Where is the love we vowed to give?
“As long as you both shall live…”
And the part that said,
“To have and to hold…”
So that there’d be someone to care as you grow old.

What happened to…
“Love, honor, and cherish…”
Where did they go, how did they perish?

Did you forget
“Be faithful to her always.. ” that part,
Taken in front of God and man and given with your heart?
How glibly those promises spilled out as you whispered,
“With this ring, I thee wed…”
Not meaning any part of what you pledged or said.
No there’s nothing but,

“Broken vows,
Broken hearts,
Broken lives. ”
