Music is the universal language for all mankind,
If you don’t believe this, just watch and you’ll soon find,
That one song can touch everyone in a different way,
As the heart recalls a memory stored deep within from another day.

 

It can make enemies forgive and friends bond anew
As each listened to songs from deep inside you.
It can take you away to your long lost love,
Or make you soar on the wings of a dove.

 

Nothing I know carries this double “whammy”
For it can bring chills to your spine or make your hands feel “clammy”.
It’s as much a necessity of life as money or food,
It soothes the heart and soul, setting the mood.

 

It embodies all the emotions locked deep inside,
And brings to the surface feelings you had lost or tried to hide.
It brings tears to the eyes and joy to the heart,
Thus allowing everyone to feel what the musician feels in part.

 

One song can touch a heart in a distinctly different way
As it stirs a memory stored inside from another day.
If one has no music within his heart
He cannot be moved by the sweet sounds others impart,

 

And so, misses out on a language common to all mankind
That helps one to see the universality of life we so often cannot find.
Music outlives any sermon preached by man
For it reaches inside an touches the soul as nothing else can.

 

Among the many gifts that God has sent,
Music is by far the most magnificent!
